West Ham Told To Pay 30M If They Want To Sign 25 Goal Frontman This Summer

Brentford have told West Ham that they will have to pay at least £30m if they want to sign striker Ivan Toney, according to reports in England.

The Hammers are one of four clubs interested in the 24-year-old, along with Arsenal, Leeds and Leicester, after the forward’s superb first season for the Bees, which has seen him score 25 goals in 33 appearances.

It is believed that Brentford will use Ollie Watkins’ £28m sale to Aston Villa as a benchmark for Toney’s asking price, although it is thought that they could refuse to sell the striker if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

After they lost 1-0 to Norwich at the weekend, Thomas Frank’s side are now three points off Watford in second, although they do have a game in hand. Were they to remain in the Championship, a deal would be a lot more likely.

Toney possesses the attributes that would fit perfectly into Irons boss David Moyes’ system and he would be an excellent alternative to Michail Antonio.
