Olympiakos Goalkeeper Speaks Out On Potential Summer Switch To West Ham

Olympiakos shot-stopper Jose Sa has refused to be drawn on reports that West Ham are interested in signing him in the summer.

The Portuguese international has been linked with a move to the London Stadium in recent months, along with Atletico Madrid and Real Betis, but when asked about the rumours, the keeper wasn’t particularly forthcoming about his future:

“Regarding the news, that’s it, news. I don’t know anything and I don’t think about it, obviously, I’m happy because it’s always good to be talked about, it’s recognition of our work.”

It would be a surprise if the Hammers did make another move for a goalkeeper considering they only recruited Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window.

Number one Lukas Fabianski may now be 34 years of age, but the Polish international has shown no signs of slowing down, despite his injury problems this season.

Sa has had a decent campaign for Olympiakos, having kept an impressive 24 clean sheets in 41 appearances. Even so, he did concede 14 in six Champions League group games so those shutout figures are sugar-coated somewhat by the Greek side’s dominance of their domestic league.
