Nikola Vlasic scored his third goal in his last three games as Torino sealed a 1-0 win against Lecce yesterday evening.
The Croatian was loaned out by West Ham at the start of the season with the Serie A club having the option to buy the player next summer.
Many supporters on Twitter don’t believe that Vlasic was given enough chances by manager David Moyes, while a few simply feel that the Italian top flight is an easier league to play in:
Moyes never gave him a proper chance. Always thought there was a player in there!

Always said he needed a run of games…

Makes me worry about scamacca and the Italian league more to be honest

Knew he had the goods, honestly thought he was gonna go off for us.

Well he’s not a prem player, doing better in a worse team where he’s the main man, in a worse league

Knew he was good. It bothers me that Moyes cannot use great players like him

Guys, it’s Serie A, not PL. Competition levels aren’t the same.

He is being played in his normal position. Moyes never played him in his position. He would be scoring for the ⚒️ if given a real chance

West Ham paid an initial £25.7m for Vlasic last year but, despite spending so much money on the 24-year-old, Moyes only started him 12 times in the Premier League, and he never lasted the full 90 minutes.
It may simply be the case that the midfielder didn’t impress enough in training to get more opportunities. With one goal and two assists to his name during his time with the Irons, it does suggest that he may not have been suited to English football.
