£18m Rated West Ham Target Reveals Ambition To Play In The Premier League

Monaco defender Guillermo Maripan has reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League. The Chilean international was linked with a move to West Ham last summer and, at the time, he expressed his interest in moving to England.

And now the Hammers having reignited their pursuit of the centre-back, with Tottenham and Watford also involved in the race, Maripan has stated once again that a switch to English football would appeal to him.

“Personally I have always liked the Premier [League] a lot, I have always wanted to play there, so I am aiming there.”

Despite only making the switch to Monaco last summer, the Ligue One side are struggling financially and reportedly want to sell €50m worth of talent when the transfer window reopens.

Claims in Spain suggest Maripan could be available for as little as €20m (£18m) but, considering the current global situation, that may well still be too steep for West Ham. The London club will need to balance the books themselves and are said to be open to offers for most of their players.
