West Ham Revive Move For £27m Rated Chilean Star But Now Face Battle With Two Other PL Clubs

West Ham are once again interested in signing Chilean international defender Guillermo Maripan, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The Hammers were heavily linked with the 26-year-old last summer before he made the switch to Monaco from Alaves in August, but it seems they have revived their pursuit for the centre-back despite the change in manager.

Monaco were said to be holding out for €40m (£36m) to €50m (£45m) but the impact of the global health crisis means they would be happy with between €20m (£18m) and €30m (£27m).

West Ham will not be the only Premier League club in for Maripan this time, though, with both Tottenham and Watford also reportedly keen on the player.

The Chilean would likely be a welcome addition to the squad if he were to arrive at the London Stadium. The Irons have struggled defensively this campaign, having conceded 50 goals in 29 games; the fourth-worst record in the entire league.
