West Ham Target Reveals He “Dreams Of The Premier League”

Sporting Lisbon winger Gonzalo Plata has revealed that he does have ambitions of playing in the Premier League one day.

The Ecuadorian international has been linked with the likes of West Ham, Leicester and Watford in recent months, and when asked in a recent interview about a potential switch to England, the 19-year-old replied:

“Of course, everyone dreams of the Premier League. When I was little, it was the European league I watched the most.”

Reports in Portugal have suggested that Leicester could well be lining up a €30m (£26m) bid for Plata, and if that is the case, that may well rule the Hammers out of the running.

The postponement of football fixtures has placed heavy financial pressures on some clubs, with West Ham having already asked their players to defer their wages for three months.

Plata is likely to have been scouted by the Irons, as the London club do have good connections in Portugal, but it is unlikely they will be splashing the cash when the transfer window reopens.
