West Ham Star Laughs Off Talk Of £50m Departure To PSG

West Ham defender Issa Diop has dismissed claims that he could leave the London Stadium for Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Reports had suggested that PSG, along with Manchester United, were interested in signing the 21-year-old, with a £50m fee being suggested.

However, when asked about a potential move back to Ligue One, Diop laughed off the speculation, stating that he is happy with life at the Hammers:

“A departure to PSG this winter? Frankly, I do not know at all, I learned the information like you, it was sent to me via social networks.”

“If my agent knows? Maybe, you have to see with him. I’m very good at West Ham, I enjoy discovering the Premier League every weekend.”

Diop was only signed from Toulouse for £22m in the summer and has started the season in pretty good form.

The centre-back has been ever-present in West Ham’s first team after starting the first two Premier League games on the bench. The London club have conceded 11 goals in nine matches after his introduction to the starting line up by manager Manuel Pellegrini.

He was described as a “monster” by United manager Jose Mourinho after the Manchester side’s 3-1 defeat to the Irons in September, and he certainly seems to have a growing reputation in the game.
