West Ham Set To Regnite Their Interest In Serie A Midfield General After Having £22m Offer Rejected

West Ham have revived their interest in Torino midfielder Soualiho Meite, according to reports in the Italian media.

It is claimed that the Hammers had previously offered €25m (£22m) for the Frenchman last summer, only to have the bid turned down. The London club have, though, continued to track the player and are reportedly considering another attempt to sign him.

Meite started the season in excellent form for Il Toro but his performances have dropped off sharply in recent months, and it is believed he could be available for significantly less than what West Ham offered for him previously.

The Irons could well be in the market for another central midfield player, even if they do sign Tomas Soucek on a permanent basis from Slavia Prague following his loan spell.

Carlos Sanchez is set to be let go on a free transfer in June, while Jack Wilshere’s future at the London Stadium is also far from certain.
