West Ham Are Keen To Offload 28 Year Old Midfielder But They Can’t Find A Buyer

West Ham are struggling to offload Jack Wilshere, according to the Claret & Hugh. A source told the website that the Hammers are actively looking for potential suitors for the 28-year-old but the current climate means a sale is unlikely.

The pandemic is hitting many clubs in the pocket with football matches having been suspended, and Wilshere’s high wages mean no one is willing to take a risk on the former Arsenal player.

Since arriving on a free transfer in 2018, Wilshere has played just 16 games due to a series of injury problems. He spent most of last season on the treatment table with an ankle injury while a groin issue has limited his game time this campaign.

With his current deal expiring in 2021, it appears the Irons are resigned to allowing him to run down his contract. The former England star is currently earning a staggering £100,000 a week and would have cost the club approximately £15m in wages by the end of next season.
