West Ham On Alert As France International Makes Key Decision On His Future

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is determined to leave Stamford Bridge when the January transfer window opens, according to reports in France.

The 34-year-old needs regular game time to make sure he is selected in France’s squad for the European Championships next summer. At the moment, there is not one club who are favourites to sign the forward but four Premier League teams, including West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle have all tried to sign him over the past year.

Whether the Hammers would consider making another approach now he is available again, it remains to be seen. The London club have been linked with a number of strikers in recent days, including the likes of Moussa Dembele, Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz.

Giroud is certainly the oldest of the targets that have been mentioned but his experience of the Premier League does give him the edge over other potential options.
