West Ham Line Up World Cup Winner As Top January Transfer Target

West Ham have made Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud their top target for the January transfer window, according to reports in the UK.

The Hammers will look to back new manager David Moyes in the transfer market next month, and one of the key priorities will be to sign another forward.

Sebastien Haller has struggled for goals since his £45m move from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer and Giroud is seen as the perfect man to provide competition for places.

The World Cup winner is expected to leave Chelsea after making just seven appearances under manager Frank Lampard this campaign.

Giroud has not even made the matchday squad for the last five Premier League games and the France international is desperate to leave in order to stay in contention for Euro 2020.

The 33-year-old does have other suitors, though, with the likes of Lyon, Inter Milan and Juventus reportedly interested in the forward’s services.
