Steidten ‘Actively Working’ On Finding A Replacement With Moyes ‘Increasingly Likely’ To Leave West Ham

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is “actively working” on a list of possible replacements for David Moyes, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station claims that the current Hammers boss is “increasingly likely” to leave his post at the end of the season.

Moyes has been offered a new contract by the London club and he has confirmed that he will wait until the summer before making a final decision on his future.

However, his fractious relationship with the West Ham fanbase means the Scot is now leaning towards departing after four and a half years in the job.

Why have things got to this stage?

Moyes does have the backing of the West Ham board but there there were some rumours that he wasn’t happy with the appointment of Steidten last year.

Despite those claims, though, the German has spoken out in recent weeks to say that he does have a good working relationship with Moyes.

It appears the decision to leave the Irons will be solely down to the manager, who talkSPORT says is  “fully aware” he doesn’t have the full backing of supporters. It means that the Scot could depart when his current contract expires in June.

Who could replace Moyes as West Ham manager?

Plenty of coaches have been linked with the job over the past few months, including Graham Potter, ex-Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui and former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper.

However, it is believed that former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel would be the frontrunner to succeed Moyes. Steidten is believed to have a good relationship with his fellow German.

As Tuchel is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and the fact that he is reportedly keen on a return to England, the West Ham position could be seen as an attractive opportunity.
