West Ham Star Earns Place Alongside 3 Chelsea Players In WhoScored’s Team Of The Week

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has been named in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Week after his performance against Fulham at the weekend.

Despite the Hammers losing the game 2-0, the Polish international racked up eight saves and earned himself a player rating of 8.02.

Fabianski has not been a regular starter in the Premier League this season, with manager David Moyes having handed the gloves to Alphonse Areola.

However, with the Frenchman currently on the treatment table due to a groin problem, Fabianski has been providing cover.

Even though he is now 38 years of age, Fabianski remains as agile as ever, and he prevented his team from losing by an even higher margin on Sunday.

Who else was included in WhoScored’s Team of the Week?

In addition to Fabianski, Crystal Palace trio Daniel Munoz, Jefferson Lerma and Tyrick Mitchell were named in the back four after keeping a clean sheet in the Eagles’s surprise win against Liverpool. Newcastle’s Fabian Schar made up the fourth member of the defence.

Chelsea pair Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher were chosen in midfield, having played key roles in the Blues’ 6-0 victory over Everton on Monday evening. Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku were selected on the wings.

Up front, WhoScored went with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, who both got on the scoresheet during gameweek 32.

West Ham’s Premier League form is a major concern

While Fabianski was blameless for the poor showing against Fulham, the rest of the team certainly didn’t cover themselves in glory. It is now just one win in five league matches for the Irons.

Of course, the loss to the Cottagers will be all but forgotten if Moyes’s men manage to turn around their Europa League tie versus Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday, but it wasn’t a great result ahead of such an important fixture.
