West Ham Named As One Of Two Clubs Who Wanted To Make Season ‘Null And Void’

West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur were the only two clubs who called for the season to be cancelled at today’s emergency meeting with the Premier League, according to journalist Ewan McKenna

The reporter, who has written for the Independent and the New York Times among other publications, says the Hammers were in a minority when calling for the campaign to be written off:

Games have been suspended until April 3rd, at the earliest, due to the Coronavirus outbreak which means the club’s games against Wolves and Tottenham have been postponed.

Currently, West Ham’s next fixture is against Chelsea on Sunday, April 5th but that is subject to change as the situation with the pandemic evolves.

Cancellation of the season would be a massive step, and it is only likely to happen when all other options have been exhausted but it appears the Irons were prepared to make the drastic decision if other clubs had agreed.
