West Ham In Race To Sign £6m Rated Bundesliga Target Man

West Ham are looking to snap up Bayern Munich striker Sandro Wagner in January, according to the Sun.

The German has struggled for game time this campaign with manager Niko Kovac favouring Robert Lewandowski as a lone striker. He only moved to the Allianz Arena from Hoffenheim last January and could be available for as little as £6m when the transfer window reopens.

The Hammers are not the only Premier League side interested in Wagner, though, with Crystal Palace also keen to strengthen up front.

Their first choice forward Christian Benteke is out with a knee injury until the New Year, but the former Liverpool striker has struggled for goals even when fit.

Wagner has been pretty prolific in front of goal for Bayern, despite his lack of game time. He scored eight times in the Bundesliga during the second half of last season.

While the 6ft 4in target man may have only hit the back of the net once so far this campaign, that is more down to the fact he has started just two games.
