West Ham Among 4 PL Teams Keeping Tabs On Record Breaking Teenage Midfielder

West Ham are monitoring Stevenage midfielder Makise Evans, according to reports in the English media.

The 16-year-old became Stevenage’s youngest-ever player when he came on in the closing minutes of their 1-0 defeat to Mansfield Town at the weekend.

It is believed that the Hammers, along with Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brighton, have been watching Evans closely, and they could take advantage of his contract situation.

Due to his age, the teenager has not signed on to professional terms with Stevenage yet. He is currently halfway through a two-year scholarship but he is free to leave the Stags and join another team when he turns 17 to put pen to paper on a full-time contract.

Evans was actually loaned out for a month to Potters Bar earlier this campaign. He caught the eye of Stevenage boss Steven Evans after becoming the Isthmian League side’s youngest goalscorer by getting on the scoresheet against Lewes.
