Southampton are not worried by West Ham’s interest in James Ward-Prowse as they don’t believe the midfielder would be interested in moving to the London Stadium, according to reports in the UK.

Hammers boss David Moyes is believed to be keen to press ahead with a bid for the England international, who could cost £60m, and fans on Twitter believe that the club have a good chance of signing the player, despite the Saints’ lack of concern:

You only have to look at the table last season to know that West Ham would be a step up for Ward-Prowse. The Saints finished 15th, while the Irons qualified for the Europa Conference League.

There was a sixteen-point difference between the two teams so, while Southampton may think otherwise, the midfielder would probably be open to a move. Of course, there are likely to be other teams interested in the 26-year-old.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been linked with Ward-Prowse in recent months so competition for his signature is a very real possibility.
