Top Five Premier League Managers Who Are Favourites To Be Sacked By Their Clubs

Football is a cut-throat business and, even though the season hasn’t even started yet, there are Premier League managers who will be under huge pressure to start the campaign well.

A poor end to the previous season, combined with a difficult summer in the transfer market, means there are teams who have already been tipped to struggle.

Their managers will, therefore, need to pick up points in the opening couple of months of the campaign in order to avoid speculation about their jobs.

Press the next page as we name the five managers who are currently favourites to be sacked heading into the 2022/23 season (based on odds from Sky Bet).

5) Marco Silva – Fulham

Despite his side scoring 106 goals in 46 games in the Championship last season, there are doubts over whether Silva can replicate that sort of success in the top flight.

The Portuguese manager plays an open brand of football and there is a danger that Fulham could be carved apart by superior Premier League attacks. The Cottagers have brought in five new signings but it remains to be seen if they have done enough to avoid relegation.

4) Brendan Rodgers – Leicester

The Foxes have not brought in a single player this summer due to Financial Fairplay restrictions and they have lost their captain Kasper Schmeichel, who is set to join Nice. With Wesley Fofana and James Maddison also being linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium, things don’t look promising for Rodgers.

Leicester struggled somewhat last campaign under the Northern Irishman’s guidance, finishing 8th, and they could slide further down the table this season.

3) Ralph Hasenhuttl – Southampton

The Saints ended the 2021/22 campaign in woeful form, collecting only 40 points from their 38 fixtures, and there is a danger that trend may continue into this season.

Hasenhuttl has been close to the sack on a number of occasions in the past, following humiliating losses to Leicester and Manchester United, but he is a survivor, so we shall see if he gets his side back playing the type of football that won him many admirers.

2) Jesse Marsch – Leeds

Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips have both left Elland Road over the summer, and while the Whites have reinvested the money from their sales back into the playing squad, losing two key players is never ideal.

Considering Leeds only managed to steer clear of relegation on the final day last season, Marsch knows he has a massive job on his hands and there is every chance he could be sacked if he doesn’t start well.

1) Frank Lampard – Everton

The Toffees are a club in disarray and Lampard has had to make do with the little funding he has been given to improve certain aspects of his squad. James Tarkowski is certainly an excellent acquisition on a free transfer but the team isn’t that much different to the one that struggled for large parts of the 2021/22 campaign.

Lampard is not a manager who makes his teams hard to beat so, if he has a poor start to the season, things could go wrong for him very quickly.
