The CIES Football Observatory have released their annual update assessing the transfer values of players across world football.

Their analysis has come up with some interesting results, although it must be pointed out that their methodology does take into account a player’s age, contract length, and the club that they play (as well as many other metrics).

As a consequence, there have been a few surprises in terms of who has made it into the top five most valuable stars in the Premier League for 2022.
