West Ham have confirmed that right-back Ryan Fredericks will be out of action until the end of February after picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win over Gillingham at the weekend.
A scan yesterday morning showed damage to the muscle on his right leg, and he is already undergoing rehabilitation as he looks to recover as quickly as possible.
Fans on Twitter are now hoping that the Hammers make a move in January to sign a replacement:
Damn that's gutting, he was looking so good recently, his delivery has really improved!

Is Clyne still at Liverpool!? I’d take him as Norwich are unlikely to sell Max Aarons whilst they’ve still gotta chance to stay up

Nathaniel Clyne from Liverpool if he is fit would be a decent loan signing for us

Would be a great time to go get Aaron's from Norwich? A great buy for right now and without doubt one for the future. I'm guessing this won't happen because of the owners short term view and a love to do things on the cheap. Such a shame.

Should have kept byram

It does appear that Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne would be the favourite, although it must be said that the Reds defender has been out since July with an ACL injury and has not returned to full training yet.
Other reports have linked West Ham with Mehdi Zeffane. The Algerian international is currently available on a free transfer after leaving Rennes last summer.
Neither player would be an ideal solution considering their fitness issues. Manager David Moyes would likely prefer someone who can come in and hit the ground running while Fredericks is sidelined.
