REPORT: West Ham Decide To Step Back From Moves To Sign 3 Free Agents

West Ham are not expected to sign the likes of Dan-Axel Zagadou, Jason Denayer or Nikola Maksimovic on free transfers, according to 90min.com.

The Hammers have been linked with the trio of centre-backs, who are all currently without clubs. Zagadou was said to be of particular interest, with the player having also been pursued by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the past.

However, it appears manager David Moyes has decided against recruiting another defender, at least until the January transfer window opens.

90min.com claim there are a couple of reasons why West Ham have cooled their interest. Firstly, with Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna now both fit, there is adequate cover for the likes of Kurt Zouma and Thilo Kehrer.

Secondly, the club can’t justify handing a sizeable wage to a player who may only be a squad option at best. The situation could still be revisited in the New Year, though, if Dawson does secure his move away from the London Stadium.
