Michael Owen Predicts The Result As West Ham Take On Chelsea

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is not expecting West Ham to pick up any points when the Hammers travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

Although David Moyes’ side have played well recently, Owen feels that Chelsea’s excellent home record will mean they will come out on top, despite losing their last two league games:

“West Ham arrive here unbeaten in two. The Hammers have been difficult to play against this season, so Chelsea will have to be at their best if they are to win this. The Blues are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 home matches. Interestingly, there have been over 2.5 goals in 5 of West Ham’s last 6 league matches. I can see goals on the menu again, and although Chelsea are wounded, I think they’ll get the result they need.”

Owen has gone with a 3-1 win for Chelsea, which is slightly surprising considering West Ham don’t tend to concede many goals on the road. In fact, this season they have only let in eight goals in six games away from the London Stadium.

Chelsea, in contrast, may have only lost one of their home matches so far but they have conceded in each of their last four games in all competitions so this could be a tighter contest than Owen is predicting.

Whether the Irons will be able to pick up a draw or a sensational win, though, we shall have to wait and see.
