Ligue One Manager Named As Candidate For West Ham Job As List Grows To 12

Lille boss Christophe Galtier is the latest manager to be added to a growing list of candidates to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham according to Claret & Hugh.

It is believed that David Moyes and Chris Hughton are the frontrunners if the Hammers opt to sack the current head coach, but it appears Galtier is a name that is also being considered, along with 11 other contenders for the role.

The Frenchman has been at Lille for just under two years, after previously managing rival Ligue One club Saint-Etienne for seven and a half seasons.

Galtier guided Lille to a second-place finish last campaign, after rescuing them from relegation in the 2017/18 season. However, things haven’t been going so smoothly this year, with the French club currently sitting tenth.

The 53-year-old has just one trophy to his name during his career in management, having guided Saint-Etienne to the French League Cup in 2012/13.
