Latest West Ham Injury Report Ahead Of The Game Against City

West Ham right-back Pablo Zabaleta had to be taken off at halftime with a dead leg in the 3-1 win over Fulham on Friday night.

The Argentine is, though, said to be back in contention to face his old club Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

Samir Nasri was on the bench against the Cottagers after recovering from a calf problem so the Frenchman could also be fit enough to start against his former side.

Fabian Balbuena did not feature on Friday. The Paraguayan has reportedly recovered from a knee injury, but manager Manuel Pellegrini has said he will only be back in full training next week and “could” return to face City.

Still, the 27-year-old has not featured since December and it’s likely that Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna will continue as the centre-back pairing at the Etihad Stadium.

Jack Wilshere has recovered from ankle surgery but the midfielder will need to be assessed in training to see if he is ready to return to first-team action.

Winston Reid (knee), Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles) and Carlos Sanchez (knee) are all expected to miss the rest of the season.
