West Ham United fans are torn over links with Porto’s £22million rated striker Moussa Marega.
Marega scoured 23 times last season to help fire Porto to the Liga NOS title, and attracted attention from across Europe with his powerful displays up-top.
Aston Villa, Everton and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the Mali international, however it is West Ham who are now in prime position to land the 27-year-old, with reports suggesting the Hammers have opened talks over a potential deal for the striker.
Marega is reportedly working with agent Mark McKay of Excel Foot who helped West Ham sign Dimitri Payet from Marseille, with both parties hoping a deal can be struck in the coming fortnight.
The striker is understood to be tempted by the prospect of Premier League football, and Porto may be willing to sell-up should the right offer come in.
Premier League clubs have reached into the Portuguese market numerous times in recent years (especially Wolves this summer), however have endured mixed fortunes.
Success stories such as those of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United and Ricardo Carvalho to Chelsea have too often been eclipsed by disappointing arrivals – Lazar Markovic, Giannelli Imbula and Anderson being amongst the worst over the years.
That (in part, anyway) explains the Claret and Blue army’s apprehension over Marega’s proposed summer move to the London Stadium …
Get Vincent Aboubakar instead…🙁🙁🙁
