West Ham fullback Jeremy Ngakia was one of the best players on the park as the Hammers narrowly lost 3-2 at Anfield last night.
The 19-year-old was making only his second senior start for the London club, but his composure on the ball and his energy played a key part in a much-improved performance from David Moyes’ side.

With the exception of one challenge on Mane, the teenager dealt with the threat of the Senegalese international very well despite his lack of experience at first-team level.
Ngakia could well have more opportunities over the coming weeks, with Ryan Fredericks’ shoulder injury likely to keep him out for a while. There has been no date given for the 27-year-old’s return.
After his excellent performance last night, it would not be a surprise if the right-back is given the nod ahead of Pablo Zabaleta once again for Saturday’s crucial game against Southampton.
