West Ham attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard will be fit to face Chelsea this weekend, according to Claret & Hugh.

The website reports that the 28-year-old only suffered cramp, despite fears that he was taken off against Newcastle at the weekend due to a hamstring injury.

Lingard has been in superb form since arriving from Manchester United at the start of February, having scored nine goals in only ten appearances for the Hammers.

Saturday evening’s game against Chelsea at the London Stadium could be crucial in deciding who will finish in the top four, with West Ham currently one point ahead of their opponents in the table.

That could change before the weekend, though, with the Blues in action this evening against Brighton. Thomas Tuchel’s side could leapfrog the Irons in the league, making them favourites to finish in the Champions League places.

Having Lingard fit and available for such an important match is, therefore, vital, and fans will be delighted that he should be ready to play a part in the London derby.
