Zabaleta Reveals Discussions With Sergio Aguero And Makes Claim About Possible West Ham Switch

Former West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta says he may suggest the Hammers as a possible destination to Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

The pair are close friends, having spent six years together at the Citizens. With Aguero leaving the Etihad in the summer, Zabaleta was asked whether the London Stadium would be a good move, and he replied:

“I met him a couple of times when I was at West Ham and I enjoyed the life in London so much. Maybe, if I speak to Sergio again! Maybe West Ham can make the Champions League this season the way they’re playing.”

The likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all believed to be looking to sign Aguero when his contract expires in June. He is said to be keen on staying in England, and with the Hammers competing for a Champions League place, it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that he would be interested, were they to finish in the top four.

Saying that, though, there are a lot of teams keen to secure his services and his reported £200,000 a week wage demands may also prove a major obstacle if West Ham were to make an offer.
