West Ham Weighing Up Summer Sale After £6m Defender Falls Down Pecking Order

West Ham are open to selling fullback Arthur Masuaku at the end of the season, according to reports in the English media.

The Republic of Congo international has made 21 appearances in all competitions this campaign, but he has been increasingly sidelined in recent weeks.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini has begun to favour Aaron Cresswell as the club’s first choice left-back with Masuaku having started just three games since Christmas.

In one of his rare starts, the 25-year-old was one of the poorest performers in the shock 4-2 FA Cup defeat to League One side AFC Wimbledon last month.

Masuaku’s strengths are generally in the attacking third of the pitch with his defensive qualities leaving a lot to be desired.

Since making the £6m from Olympiakos in the summer of 2016, the defender has gone on to rack up 69 appearances for the Hammers, but his time at the club could be drawing to a close.
