EXWHUEmployee Confirms West Ham Are “Trying To Sign” Teenage Sensation Ahead Of Chelsea And Brighton

West Ham are “trying to sign” Glentoran striker George Feeney, according to insider ExWHUEmployee.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, Ex said that the Hammers are hoping to beat the likes of Chelsea and Brighton to the player’s signature, with the club having strong connections in Northern Ireland:

“The club are trying to sign another top talent from Northern Ireland in George Feeney, who is only 15 but very highly rated. We do however face competition from other clubs, including Chelsea and Brighton.”

“It is hoped that having fellow countrymen Calum Marshall and Patrick Kelly at the club and doing well could well give West Ham the advantage.”

West Ham will have competition for Feeney’s services

In addition to the 3 Premier League clubs already mentioned, it was reported last month by the Belfast Telegraph that Crystal Palace, Everton and Sheffield United are also keeping tabs on the teenager.

Feeney is believed to have been scouted by a number of these teams when Glentoran Reserves took on Cliftonville in September.

Feeney has already made his senior debut

Despite only being 15 years of age, the forward made his debut as a substitute for Glentoran in the County Antrim Shield win over Crusaders. The youngster then made his first league appearance against Newry City the following week.

After coming off the bench in subsequent games against Dungannon and Coleraine, Feeney was handed his first start versus Dollingstown FC in the JBE League Cup on Tuesday night.

The teenager scored his first senior goal during the match as Glentoran secured a 2-0 win to progress to the 2nd record. No doubt, West Ham and other Premier League clubs had observers in attendance to see him get on the scoresheet.
