REPORT: West Ham United Interested In Transfer For 10-Goal Bundesliga Striker

West Ham United are reportedly interested in a transfer move for VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to a recent report from TeamTalk.

Guirassy is currently on fire in the Bundesliga – he has found the back of the net ten times in six league games. This makes him the top goalscorer in Germany’s top division, ahead of major talents such as Leroy Sane, Jonas Wind and Harry Kane.

Moreover, with a release clause of £17.3 million in his contract, the Irons could get their hands on Guirassy for a bargain price if they choose to action a move.

As such, the Guinean international is beginning to turn the heads of clubs from across Europe’s biggest leagues – the Hammers are not alone in their pursuit of the 27-year-old.

Who else, besides West Ham, are interested in a move for Serhou Guirassy?

Besides West Ham, their bitter London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, are also thought to be interested in a potential transfer move for Guirassy.

Spurs lost their star striker in the summer transfer window – the aforementioned Harry Kane – so it makes sense for them to be in the hunt for an elite centre-forward.

Going head to head with a big six team for a top player is no easy feat – even for a team of West Ham’s size and financial backing. If the Irons want to make this deal a reality, they must give Guirassy whatever he wants in his contract.

What would Guirassy bring to the squad?

Should West Ham complete a move for Guirassy, he could be what the Hammers massive hoped Gianluca Scamacca would be. Powerful, aerially dominant and with a keen eye for goal, the Stuttgart star looks to be the archetypal modern striker.

Additionally, with his strong frame, he could also be a solid replacement for Michail Antonio. At the age of 33, the Jamaican international isn’t getting any younger – West Ham will need to find someone to fill his shoes sooner rather than later.

He also looks to be the perfect striker to fit into a David Moyes system. The Scot has a propensity for direct football, which will suit Guirassy excellently.
