Aston Villa striker Danny Ings will likely cost £20m if a team wants to secure his services on a permanent basis this month, according to journalist Dean Jones.

West Ham, Southampton and Everton are all interested in recruiting the 30-year-old, but Jones believes that Villa won’t allow him to leave on the cheap:

“I think you’re looking at £20 million in my eyes if you’re actually looking to get Ings on a permanent deal.”

Whether that figure proves to be accurate, it remains to be seen. The Hammers are keen to bring in a forward, having made an approach for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri over the past week.

The Moroccan is, however, not interested in a switch to the London Stadium so Ings may well come back under consideration. The former Liverpool player, who has been described as a “phenomenal finisher” by ex Leeds star Ronnie Whelan, would certainly help improve West Ham’s appalling scoring record this season.

David Moyes’s side have really struggled in front of goal, having hit the back of the net just 15 times in the Premier League.
