West Ham Tipped To Challenge Spurs And Arsenal For Turkish International Defender

West Ham have joined Tottenham and Arsenal in the race to sign Sassuolo fullback Mert Muldur, according to reports in the English media.

The Turkish international is equally comfortable with both feet, meaning he is capable of playing as a left-back, as well as a centre-half and right-back.

With Vladimir Coufal having cemented his place on the right side, it must be assumed that Hammers boss David Moyes is considering Muldur for the opposite flank.

It should be pointed out that the 22-year-old has far less experience as a left-back, but his flexibility means he should be able to adapt quickly to the new position.

Muldur will also undoubtedly provide excellent cover for Coufal so it does seem like a very sensible addition, if West Ham can get the deal over the line.

With strong competition coming from other Premier League teams, the transfer won’t be an easy one to finalise but we shall see how the situation develops in the coming weeks.
