West Ham Leading Arsenal And Leeds In The Race To Sign Real Madrid Star On Loan

West Ham are in pole position to sign Real Madrid left-back Miguel Gutierrez on loan, according to reports in the English media.

Both Arsenal and Leeds have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old in recent weeks but it is thought the Hammers are the favourites to land his signature.

Real are keen to see Gutierrez get more game time. He did make six appearances for the first team last season but he is behind both Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

The Spanish Under 19 international is thought to be open to a Premier League switch so manager David Moyes should not have any issues in persuading him to join.

Although Aaron Cresswell was in superb form last campaign, he spent a large part of the season without any real backup, because of the long-term injury suffered by Arthur Masuaku. Gutierrez’s arrival would, therefore, be welcomed, especially due to the extra games the club will have to play in the Europa League.
