West Ham ‘Ready’ To Make Summer Move For World Cup Winner

West Ham are “ready” to make a move for Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website claims that both the Hammers and Wolves are possible destinations for the player.

It is believed that the World Cup winner could well be open to a switch to the Premier League due to his new girlfriend, Melanie Leupolz.

The Bayern Munich captain has agreed to join Chelsea next season, and Calciomercato report that Khedira would be keen on playing in the same country.

The German will have one year remaining on his current deal at Juve in the summer, and the Serie A club could be open to selling up with the player about to turn 33.

Khedira has only recently returned from knee surgery and that may be a cause for concern for West Ham, who have had a number of injury-prone players in recent years.

Even so, the midfielder’s pedigree is not in doubt, having won five league titles, five domestic cups, the Champions League as well as the World Cup during his career.
