West Ham Plot Double Swoop For Dominican Ace And German Defender

West Ham are looking to sign both Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz and Philadelphia Union left-back Kai Wagner when the January transfer window opens, according to reports in England.

Diaz has been offered to the Hammers on loan, with the Dominican Republic international having failed to establish himself since returning to the Bernabeu two years ago.

Manager David Moyes is keen to have more firepower up front with Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio currently the only two strikers in the first team squad.

The Irons are also looking to strengthen their left flank, and they are believed to be targeting Wagner, who has spent the last two seasons in the USA after moving from German second division side Wurzburger Kickers.

The 23-year-old is said to be available for around £3.5m but they will face competition from Fulham for the German defender’s signature.

Both players would be economical solutions to strengthen the squad with West Ham’s owners unwilling to hand Moyes a large transfer budget.
