West Ham Linked With SECOND Ex-Chelsea Boss As Rumours About Moyes’ Successor Intensify

West Ham may consider appointing Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel if Tim Steidten remains as technical director beyond the end of the season, according to HITC.

The website claims that the former Chelsea boss is expected to leave Bayern this summer, and he has a good relationship with Steidten.

It is believed that the pair were set to work together at Stamford Bridge before Tuchel was sacked as manager in September 2022.

Steidten ultimately remained at Bayer Leverkusen before taking up his position with the Hammers last year. He is, however, still keen on working with Tuchel and there is some hope that the Champions League winner could be persuaded into returning to London; a place that he has a lot of affection for.

Sullivan is the kingmaker

There is a general feeling that if David Moyes is handed a new contract by West Ham chairman David Sullivan, it will lead to Steidten leaving.

Conversely, if Moyes is let go, Sullivan is expected to give Steidten the responsibility for finding the Scot’s replacement, with Tuchel in the frame.

Who else will West Ham consider as a potential successor for Moyes?

Tuchel is not the only ex-Chelsea manager who has been linked with the Irons’ hot seat in recent days. Graham Potter is also said to be high on the list of candidates to succeed Moyes at the London Stadium.

Other names, including former Wolves head coach Julen Lopetegui and ex-Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper, could be considered as well.

Another candidate, Oliver Glasner, who has previously managed Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, is now unlikely to join West Ham, with reports indicating that the Austrian is the firm favourite to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.

For now, it seems very uncertain who will be in charge of the Hammers at the start of next season.
