REPORT: West Ham United Striker Attracting Premier League Transfer Attention

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has been linked with a move to fellow Premier League club Everton, according to a report from The Guardian.

Antonio has been linked with a move to Goodison Park back in January, but a move failed to materialise. Can the Toffees seal a deal now that the summer window is up and running?

Additionally, what would Antonio’s departure mean for West Ham? More importantly, how will they be able to replace him in their matchday squad?

Would West Ham United miss the services of Michail Antonio?

West Ham should try to to all they can to hold on to Antonio. A hard-working, physical forward with an underrated eye for goal, for what he lacks in technical ability, he makes up for it with brute force and unwavering workrate.

No one in the squad offers what Antonio does currently. Gianluca Scamacca is struggling to adapt to the physicality and fast pace of the Premier League, while Danny Ings is more of an old-school poacher.

If Antonio is sold to Everton, he will need replacing, but it will be a difficult task to undertake. Not only is he a useful player to have on the pitch, he is also a positive and well-respected presence in the dressing room – something that can be invaluable during hard times.

Nevertheless, if Antonio is sold, the Hammers will need to dip into the transfer market. With the 2023/24 Premier League season just over a week away, the Irons must be careful that they are not pressured into making a hasty decision – despite the limited amount of time on their hands.

Who else, besides Everton, are interested in a move for Michail Antonio?

Everton are not the only club who have Antonio in their crosshairs. Like so many other players in the Premier League, Antonio is attracting attention from several teams in the Saudi Pro League in recent times.

Plenty of players from the Premier League have made the jump to Saudi Arabia so far in the ongoing summer transfer window – Ruben Neves, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are just a few examples.
