West Ham Look To Snap Up United Veteran For Free

West Ham are weighing up a move for Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia, according to reports in the UK.

The Ecuadorian international is out of contract in the summer and has yet to be offered a new deal.

The Hammers are said to be keen to recruit a new right-back with doubts over whether Pablo Zabaleta will remain at the club beyond the end of the season.

The former Manchester City defender also hasn’t signed a new contract and may opt to retire when his current deal runs out in 2019.

Valencia, meanwhile, has been struggling for fitness and form at United this season. He also reportedly had a falling out with manager Antonio Valencia over his use of Instagram and has started just one match since September.

United do have an option to extend the 33-year-old’s contract by a further year if they so wish but so far they haven’t chosen to do so. The fullback has spent nine and a half years at Old Trafford.
