West Ham Line Up £9m Deal For Arsenal Midfield Enforcer

West Ham are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, according to reports in the Middle East.

The Hammers are poised to sell Pedro Obiang to Sassuolo for £8m and will need to strengthen in midfield ahead of the new season.

If the 27-year-old does return to Italy, they will be left with only Carlos Sanchez and Josh Cullen to provide competition for Declan Rice and Mark Noble.

The Colombian midfielder, in particular, has struggled for form in preseason and fans are concerned he won’t be able to provide sufficient backup.

Elneny could, therefore, prove a good addition to the squad with West Ham reportedly prepared to pay £9m for the player.

The Egyptian international struggled for game time under manager Unai Emery at the Gunners last season, making just 17 appearances in all competitions.

With Arsenal looking to free up funds for new signings this summer, they will likely sell Elneny for the right price.
