Serie A Side Submit £8m Bid For West Ham Midfielder

Sassuolo have made a €9m (£8m) offer for West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang, according to reports in Italy.

The Equatorial Guinea international has also been linked with Fiorentina and Bologna but it seems that another Serie A side are now favourites to secure the Hammers star’s signature.

Sassuolo have reportedly been weighing up a move for a while, but they were not sure if they could make an approach for Obiang as they haven’t been able to sell Alfred Duncan to free up funds.

However, it appears they have now managed to find the money and they are reportedly optimistic that a deal can be agreed.

Obiang is likely to be open to a move to Italy. He came through the academy at Sampdoria and spent five seasons in the first team there before moving to West Ham four years ago.

£8m would be a profit on the amount the Hammers signed the player for in 2015 so the London club may look to cash in.
