West Ham Lead Host Of PL Clubs In January Battle For £20m Rated Norwegian Midfield General

West Ham are now leading the race for Racing Genk midfielder Sander Berge, according to the Bleacher Report. The website believes the Hammers could be able to get a deal done for less than £20m in the January transfer window.

The Norwegian international could well be the holding midfielder that the club have been looking for, after failing to replace Pedro Obiang in the summer. He would be able to take some of the burden off Mark Noble and Declan Rice.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been monitoring the midfielder, but it appears West Ham, along with, Napoli, Brighton, Sheffield United and Aston Villa have a stronger interest in him

Out of the five clubs, it is believed the Irons have the best chance with Berge keener on moving to London if he leaves Genk for a Premier League club. The 21-year-old has made 27 appearances this campaign, scoring four goals.
