West Ham Given Massive Boost As Chelsea Hold Two Major Reservations About Signing Declan Rice

Chelsea may opt against trying to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Blues are not convinced by the Hammers star’s ability to progress the ball and, combined with his £100m plus price tag, they are reluctant to invest a sizeable sum in a player who they have doubts about.

Thomas Tuchel’s team’s hesitancy to make a move for Rice will certainly increase the chances that the England international will stay at the London Stadium beyond the end of the season.

Manchester United are also reportedly interested in the 23-year-old but, with the player preferring a move to Stamford Bridge, and the fact that the Red Devils may not qualify for the Champions League, the likelihood of Rice agreeing a switch is far lower.

Of course, things could change before the summer, but West Ham fans will be hoping that the club can keep hold of their vice-captain.
