West Ham Could Battle Arsenal And Newcastle For £35M Rated Serbian Star As They Target Rice Replacement

West Ham are considering whether to make an audacious move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Serbian international is nearing the final twelve months of his contract at the Serie A side and he could be sold for €40m (£35m) this summer.

It is believed that Milinkovic-Savic may well be an option that Hammers boss David Moyes is considering if they lose captain Declan Rice.

There are, though, a few big stumbling blocks that could stop the transfer from going ahead. First of all, it goes without saying that West Ham would need to retain their top-flight status.

You do also have to wonder whether Milinkovic-Savic would be interested in a move to the London Stadium, considering that he will likely be playing in the Champions League next season if he remains at Lazio.

Arsenal and Newcastle are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old, although the Gunners may drop out if they win the race for Rice.
