West Ham Named Among Six PL Clubs Who Scouted £31M Rated Eredivisie Playmaker And His Teammate Last Week

West Ham were one of six Premier League teams who had scouts in the stands for the Dutch Cup semi-final tie between Feyenoord and Ajax last Wednesday, according to The Mirror.

It is believed that the Hammers, along with Manchester United, Tottenham, Leicester, Brighton and Brentford, were watching Feyenoord pair Orkun Kokcu and Santiago Gimenez.

Kocku is Feyenoord’s captain and he has been an instrumental figure in helping his team to the top of the Eredivisie table. Benfica are already said to be considering a €35m (£31m) bid for the playmaker but he may well prefer a move to the Premier League.

Gimenez, meanwhile, is a Mexican forward who has scored 17 goals in 36 appearances since arriving from Cruz Azul last summer.

The 21-year-old did get on the scoresheet against Ajax, likely impressing many of the representatives present from English clubs, but he was unable to prevent Feyenood from being knocked out of the competition, as they ultimately lost 2-1.
