“We are stuck in 2013” – Hammers fans react as Evra completes West Ham deal

West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts following the news the club have completed the signing of Patrice Evra on a free transfer.

The Frenchman was free to join a new club outside the January, after having being let go by Marseille earlier this season.

The former free agent was given his marching orders by the Ligue 1 side after a incident involving a fan, in which the Frenchman appeared to kick them in the head after a touchline dispute.

After several months out however, the former Manchester United star now makes his return to football and to the Premier League – this time with the Hammers.



Evra has passed a medical and agreed personal terms at the club yesterday, before being formally announced as a West Ham player late in the afternoon.

In joining the Hammers, Evra brings plenty of Premier League experience to his new side.

The Frenchman made nearly 400 appearance for Manchester United between 2005 and 2014, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League trophy.

That impressive trophy cabinet has come as little consolation to the West ham fans however, who have had their say on the signing of the former United star …
