West Ham are in desperate need of more firepower up front, and some reports suggest that the Hammers may consider a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
The Frenchman is not getting a lot of game time at Stamford Bridge, and with his contract expiring in the summer, he could well be available when the window re-opens. However, this fan doesn’t think he would be the right fit for the club:
He does have a point regarding the type of striker that West Ham should be going after. Giroud would be a like for like replacement for Sebastien Haller, and that is not what you need if you are looking to change the game from the bench.
The problem is that the Irons are unlikely to spend big in January, and there are only so many strikers that will be available for a price they are willing to pay. With that being the case, Giroud may be a more attractive option.
