West Ham are plotting a move for ex-player Jesse Lingard ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old joined South Korean side FC Seoul in February after several months without a club following his release by Nottingham Forest last year.

Lingard had actually been training with David Moyes‘ side prior to his transfer to Seoul, as he looked to keep up his match fitness during his time as a free agent.

However, despite there being constant rumours that he could sign a short-term contract with the Hammers, he ultimately made the switch to the Far East instead.

West Ham would have to pay a fee for Lingard

If the Irons are planning to make an approach for Lingard, they would have to shell out a transfer fee. His contract at FC Seoul runs until the summer of 2025.

Even though they had many months to decide on whether to snap up the former Manchester United player on a free transfer, it is believed that money is no object for the London club who are determined to bring the winger back to England.

Moyes has big plans if he stays at the London Stadium

In addition to buying Lingard, David Moyes is said to have his eyes on other additions to the squad if he does extend his contract with West Ham.

He is seeking to secure agreements with other has-beens including the likes of Everton veterans Ashley Young & Seamus Coleman (who he has worked with before), former Hammers no.1 Adrian, Nottingham Forest midfielder Harry Arter (who hasn’t played a game in 2 years) and Dele Alli.
