West Ham are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez with Inter Milan likely to decide against signing the Chilean on a permanent basis.
The main stumbling block is the 31-year-old’s wages, and fans on Twitter think the Hammers would have the same issue if they did try to land the former Arsenal star:
This is the worst one so far….

Would be another classic West Ham failed transfer. He's hardly performed at any level fpr years. Expensive, old & injury prone. Was great in his peak but we've made this mistake so many times. Steer well clear. Go for younger, hungrier players. Bowen & Soucek were a good start.

As if Sullivan would pay half of his wages?? Even though they don’t know when next season will start it must be almost time for them to announce season ticket renewal details

Although signing injury-prone players on high wages has been something that West Ham have been known to do in recent seasons (e.g Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere), it’s hard to imagine why Sanchez would be seen as a decent target.
Unless he was signed on a free transfer and was offered a pay as you play contract, there appears to be no real upside to snapping up the Chilean international.
Sanchez has spent a large portion of the campaign sidelined with a foot injury and he has played just 15 games, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
