Marega

West Ham are close to signing Porto striker Moussa Marega, according to Record.

The Portuguese newspaper says the Malian international’s exit from the Estadio do Dragao is “imminent” with sources indicating that his destination will be the Hammers.

Record believe Marega could leave for €35m (£31m) which is the 28-year-old’s release clause, although they do not commit to that figure.

The Hammers are said to be looking for a new striker this summer with Andy Carroll leaving on a free transfer, and the club reportedly willing to listen to offers for both Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez.

Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez was a potential option but the Uruguayan’s £43.8m buyout fee was likely proving a stumbling block, with Marega a cheaper alternative.

The Malian has scored 21 goals and laid on 11 assists in 45 appearances this season and is very much a target man with strength and power that would suit the Premier League.
